ManTech Makes DevOps Move With $180M Acquisition Of InfoZen

With its move to acquire InfoZen, national security-focused solution provider ManTech International aims to establish a strong DevOps practice and expand into the federal civilian market.

Herndon, Va.-based ManTech, No. 31 on the 2017 CRN Solution Provider 500 list, said Monday it had reached an agreement to acquire privately held InfoZen for $180 million in cash. The acquisition brings ManTech about 300 employees with expertise in IT modernization, DevOps, cloud migration and threat monitoring focused on homeland security.

The acquisition is part of "ManTech's long-term strategy to expand our presence in the federal civilian market and enhance our capabilities in IT modernization," ManTech Chairman and CEO George Pedersen said in a statement.

The acquisition comes amid a number of cloud-related acquisitions intended to help customers move more quickly and become more agile, including HPE's recent buy of Cloud Technology Partners and Rackspace Hosting's acquisition of Datapipe in a move to create a global managed services powerhouse with extensive multi-cloud capabilities.

InfoZen is a little over 20 years old, and specializes in modernizing legacy environments for customers in the federal civilian market, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and NASA.
ManTech said it expects to close the acquisition in October.
