Mobility Minute: Galaxy Note8 Enterprise Edition Provides Channel With New Mobile Play

For solution providers to effectively develop enterprise mobile strategies, they must balance device security and management with the mobile expectations of their customers.

Samsung is addressing both sides of this equation with its new business-focused Galaxy Note 8 Enterprise edition - an unlocked version of the flagship device that solution providers can sell directly to their customers.

"The Enterprise edition is really designed for the enterprise or B2B customer. What we've done is we've packaged a couple of core capabilities and services with the Note8 to really provide for and solve for some challenges that our enterprises really need—particularly the IT department," Eric McCarty, vice president mobile B2B product marketing at Samsung told CRNtv.

Those core capabilities include Knox Configure - which allows IT admins to quickly to quickly customize and provision a large number of phones – and Samsung Enterprise Firmware Over the Air – which enables remote OS and firmware updates.

"Besides the benefits to the customer around the easy deployment and the manageability, we've packaged this for the channel partners so that it's a turnkey solution that they can offer to their customers," said McCarty.
